Treat yourself to some sensual healing tonight from Proenza Schouler’s Latin-influenced Spring collection, complete with ribbons, ruffles, and a fair share of feathers. Get the lowdown on Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s latest below.
This isn’t your typical ’90s slip dress. Proenza’s version was made of a net of feathers layered over a cutout minidress.
Furthering the Spanish influence were several nods to the craftsmanship of Spain’s most famed fashion export, Cristóbal Balenciaga. The Balenciaga effect could be seen in knot-front jackets and controlled ruffles that harkened to Nicolas Ghesquière’s time at the house. Interesting, considering that brand is in the market for a new creative director . . . or two.
